Let’s face it, a very sad thing happening to young people is when we go through something, we don’t talk; we suffer in silence – we die alone – we’re too ashamed to share our problems. Young people get castigated & judged because they do drugs & pornography, fornication and fraud, but those aren’t even our real problems – those are just how we medicate our pains.
Family & church often come down so hard – “thou shall not do this or that”; yeah we know. We also need help on what “Thou shall do …”
When men play with toys for boys, they’re not stupid – they just have it so tough they go back to when things were easy… Boyhood. Most of us young people scream hard at night but nobody hears us. So what do we do? Fight Back… all by ourselves.
Some of us are at life’s intersection – too young to be old and too old to be young – terrified & in panic, because we don’t know the way to go. It explains why some of us get (and stay) so angry… When all else fails we get mad, and angry.
Still, no one hears us.
But young people, suicide, murder or homicides aren’t ways out – we’re already in a hole and we need to stop digging. We need more than prayers or fellowships, or even church service – deliverances won’t help much – we need a friend; a personalized experience with a friend who not only hears us, but who is capable of effecting changes on the situations we cry to Him about.
We need first, a friend, before we need a savior; we need to make this Christ a friend – one with whom we can have a walk, a drive, or a telephone conversation.
Thank you ‘Dewale, you’re just acting my mouthpiece and about issues on my mind; the silence, shame to share my problems, and those avenues through which I medicate my pains.
“Thou shall not do this”, but please help me on the things “I can do”.
I agree – “Some of us are at life’s intersection – too young to be old and too old to be young – terrified & in panic, because we don’t know the way to go. It explains why some of us get (and stay) so angry… When all else fails we get mad, and angry.”
I need a friend; a personalized experience with a friend who not only hears me, but who is capable of effecting changes on the situations I cry to Him/Her about – one with whom I can have a walk, a drive, or a telephone conversation, and who believes in the grace through Jesus Christ!
Thank you ‘Dewale,
Thank you Ijeoma.
You are very welcome.
